The Finnish Association of Work Life Research (FAWORE)

The Finnish Association of Work Life Research (FAWORE) is a scientific society that was established in 2003 to continue and develop the activities of the former Finnish Labour Policy Association (Työpoliittinen yhdistys ry.). The purpose of the Association is to promote scientific discussion, to develop the proficiency and expertise of working life researchers and professionals and to disseminate the knowledge gained by working life research and development activities. The Association gathers together the multidisciplinary fields of work and working life research and enhances the networking of researchers, developers and other actors and institutions in working life.

FAWORE publishes the bilingual (Finnish/Swedish) multidisciplinary scientific journal Työelämän tutkimus – Arbetslivsforskning, which is issued three times a year. Together with the Work Research Centre of the University of Tampere, the Association organises annually Work Research Conference. The conference has grown into one of the largest social science conferences in Finland. The Association also arranges other seminars and public discussions on current working life issues.

The Finnish Association of Work Life Research is a member of the International Labour and Employment Relations Association ILERA and the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.
